In New York this week, Buick unwrapped the 2017 Encore small SUV, which has been given a facelift

that includes a new front fascia, grille, and more technology. The newest version of Buick’s best-selling

model in the United States, sold in Europe as the Opel Mokka, will reach U.S. dealer showrooms this fall.
Premium features have been added to Buick’s small 5-seat Encore sport utility, first introduced to the market

in 2013. A new front fascia and a winged grille with Buick’s new tri-color insignia are aspects of the

refreshed look along with new front and rear LED signature lighting systems. Also new are a chrome

exhaust, body-color heated side mirrors, and redesigned 18-in, wheels.

Buick also has updated the Encore’s cabin with a revised instrument panel that incorporates a new

gauge cluster and information center. Standard technology includes the next-generation IntelliLink

system with an 8-in. color touch screen, push-button start, keyless entry, and new connective technology

that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone apps.

The Encore, which is powered by a turbocharged, 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine and 6-speed automatic

transmission, offers 48.4 cu. ft. of cargo space when split rear seating is folded down. Safety features

have been enhanced on the new Encore, which is equipped with 10 air bags and is now available with

rear cross-traffic alert, side blind-zone alert, rear park assist, forward-collision alert, and lane-departure

warning.The 2017 Encore will be offered in five trim levels: base Encore; Encore Sport Touring; Encore

Convenience; Encore Leather; and Encore Premium. It will be available with standard front-wheel drive

or optional all-wheel drive in a choice of three new exterior colors: Black Cherry Metallic, Ebony Twilight
